5 Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Bathroom
Whew! 12 months at home and counting (albeit with some light at the end of the tunnel)!!
We are all tired of the phrase ‘work from home’ and by now you’ve either figured that one out, or, you’re still working from your bed. TOTALLY FINE if you are! The point is, you’ve survived.
Moving on, though, wouldn’t it be nice to easily refresh a space in your home, while you’re still home? Here are some easy ways to add some vibrancy into any bathroom.
1. ROUND STORAGE MIRROR
Get rid of all the bottles around the sink - and other clutter. Consolidate toiletries and medications into this gorgeous storage mirror by CIELO. It comes in various finishes for a pop of color, or stick with a neutral gold or black. It’s sophisticated and practical. (*Side Note: they also have AMAZING, colorful sinks and vanities. Another easy element to switch out and make your bathroom gorgeous.).
2. RE-TILE THE FLOOR
Tiling a floor is much easier than, say, a shower and more cost effective as well. Choose a vibrant, colorful floor that is easy to clean, and your bathroom will look totally made-over, overnight. (Well maybe a week later…). Some tile companies we adore include, Cle Tile; Tilebar; and Zia Tile.
3. WALLPAPER
Powder rooms are excellent places for wallpaper because they are dryer than bathrooms with tubs or showers. And powder rooms are generally smaller, so going for a bold, pretty paper will delight without being overwhelming. ‘Peel and stick’ is a great way to try it out without over-committing. Lately we’ve been admiring floral papers such as this lovely ‘Smoky Rose’ one by Anthropologie.

4. CHANGE THE TOILET
Where is the rule that says a toilet must be white? That’s right, there isn’t one! Try a bold, black toilet in an otherwise neutral bathroom to give it an ultra-modern look. The Kohler Persuade model is sleek and well-priced. Pairing it with bead-board softens the overall vibe.
5. ADD/REPLACE VANITY LIGHTING
We are so in love with Dutton Brown, a custom lighting manufacturer based in Minnesota (bonus for local / U.S. based businesses!). Their lights come in a huge array of colors and finishes to match any scheme already in your bathroom. We love the ‘Color Sceptor Sconce’ for how fun, yet simple it is.
